Strategic Objectives

  1. Network & Partnerships
  2. Capacity Building & Activities
  3. Communications & Outreach
  4. Research, Knowledge & Resource
  5. Advocacy
  6. Community Impact
1. Network & Partnerships
Our Support network is at the core of the organisation’s business. Nurturing and building on this network is key to the continued success of the Forum and paramount to its future sustainability. With a focus on membership retention and eventual expansion, AEASG will re-design its approach to its members, its menu of membership services and benefits and in turn, raise the profile and the impact of the organisation within the sector of strategic philanthropy in the region and globally.
2. Capacity Building & Activities

What our members get out of their affiliation with AEASG is of the utmost importance and priority. We will enhance our membership benefits by improving on the quality and substance of our pre-existing services, as well as increasing the number of activities we offer to our network – which includes our members as well as other strategic partners.

3. Communications & Outreach

Our approach to our communications and outreach is one that involves using all platforms available to us and bringing AEASG and its network of members to the foreground in terms of social media and engagement within the network, as well as with other foundations and networks on a global scale. We want AEASG and its members to be abreast with all that pertains to Endometriosis in the Africa region; to that end, we aim to raise the profile of the organisation by communicating our vision and mission clearly and consistently across the board.

4. Knowledge and Resource

We believe that knowledge is key. AEASG is committed to engaging the sector on issues related to data, research and the creation of credible knowledge resources in order to advance the region’s role in development on a global scale. AEASG will implement a system through which it will re-define itself as a knowledge and resource hub for all happenings related to strategic philanthropy as regards the Africa region. Building our resource base and commissioning sector-relevant research and case studies allows us to play a key role in determining the direction of the sector that we serve. We believe in data and research because we believe that when we own our data, we own our narrative and when we own our narrative, we can tell our own story.

5. Advocacy

AEASG can play a pivotal role in facilitating and spearheading initiatives around advocacy for the sector, whether on behalf of our members or in service thereof. We hope to engage in the development of advocacy initiatives that are relevant to the sector and will seek out opportunities to position AEASg as a key player in this arena.

6. Community Impact

Our impact is focused on Girls and Women suffering from Endometriosis in Africa. Our impact can be seen via the following provisions:

  • Basic Human Needs: Help ensure shelter, basic medical care, access to nutritious food, and safety for the most vulnerable residents in Africa.
  • Economic Opportunity: Help foster interconnected and culturally vibrant communities in which sufferers have the tools and opportunities necessary for jobs and careers that lead to economic self‐sufficiency.
  • Education: Help educate country members and women living with Endo in targeted low‐income neighborhoods.

In order to achieve the six objectives described above, the Foundation will strengthen its internal capabilities and resources. In the coming ten years, the Foundation will focus on the following areas:

  • Foundation Leadership: Increase the leadership roles that AEAS, board, volunteers, and donors play on key issues in Africa, especially those identified as our community‐impact objectives.
  • Structure, Process, and Resource Alignment: Align and integrate stAEAS and committee structures, resources, and administrative processes in order to achieve the community‐ impact and partner objectives.
  • Learning Community: Foster a learning community in which Foundation stAEAS, trustees, volunteers, and partners share insights across disciplines and sectors, and use that learning to assess impact and develop future strategies.
  • Range of Funding Streams: Increase and diversify the range of revenue streams to maximize our effectiveness in connection with the Foundation’s community‐impact objectives.
  • Sustainable Operating Model: Ensure that the Foundation’s operating model is sustainable as circumstances change.
